That Hanazawa with the Fish Scales
Clip Length: 2:49
Source: Hanazawa Kana no Hitori de Dekiru Kana?
Air Date: 2012.02.29
Personality: Kana Hanazawa

From Hitokana-name Kamatari-san” Thank you! “Hanazawa-san, good evening.” Good evening! “For last time’s live birthday broadcast I took an earlier shift at my part time job so I could listen!” Really!? Thank you! “I wondered ‘Who’s the guest gonna be? Could it be Taketatsu-san? Could it be Tomatsu-san?’ Whoa! It was Hikasa-san! What a fun hour!

By the way, something happened on Twitter during the live broadcast. On the Trends section I saw the hashtag ‘#hitokana’ rising and I laughed. I wonder how many people in Japan during that hour wanted to know what ‘#hitokana’ meant and saw the picture of that outfit?

I’m sure you’re wearing it again today” Right now.. no I’m not. “I’m looking forward to a blog update. Well, that’s all! Take care! I’m writing this while resting in bed with the flu.” Are you okay? The flu?

So… The power of Twitter is pretty amazing, isn’t it? Huh? Wait, so that means, that picture we took when I was fooling around… These people who don’t know about me were like “So this is Ha na za wa?…”? Hahahaha! That’s crazy! And then we went from that to my solo debut! Isn’t that kind of bad? Like, “What, that Hanazawa with the fish scales?” Sorry! “The one wearing that tube?” Huh? That’s kind of scary! Those hashtags.. What are hashtags? Whatever! Who needs Twitter anyway. Hahahaha.

But anyway, so, people were talking about that? And people were trying to see what hitokana meant. I think that’s a good thing.

So, about that tube dress that Hiyocchi brought? That staged-ish seeming… Like Bunka Housou might have set that up… Mon-chan was responsible for that, wasn’t she? Ah good. I got a sort of vague nod there. So it was like that.

Will I wear it again? I might! Look. Since the solo debut song is called Hoshizora Destination, then like the starry-sky… Sparkle, sparkling…. Tying it all together, maybe it’s… Twinkle Hanazawa- Hold on. The person from Aniplex is frowning at me… Let’s stop now. It’s not something to joke about. Hahaha. It’s very serious. Joki.. Hahaha, but, we don’t do any thing on this show but joke around. Well, I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to wear that again but I’ll put it somewhere safe at least.

Hanazawa, Hikasa Jun-chan!
Clip Length: 7:07
Source: Hanazawa Kana no Hitori de Dekiru Kana?
Air Date: 2012.02.15
Personality: Kana Hanazawa
Guest: Yoko Hikasa

Yoko Hikasa appeared as a guest on Kana Hanazawa’s live broadcast birthday special. Earlier in the show, Hiyocchi gave Kana some clothes she helped pick out as presents from the show:
1. A spangled dress that she thought resembled chain mail. Hiyocchi joked that out of all the seiyuu, probably only Chiaki Takahashi wears chain mail… [warning: that link might be a bit nsfw]
2. A “Coffee Bean” t-shirt.
Anyway, after that Hiyocchi got pulled into an infamous corner…

HANAZAWA:  Hanazawa Kana no Hitori de de’ -dededede-de-de-dede!
HIKASA:     Wow! You really did stumble on that…
HANAZAWA:   Give it a try! Give it a try!
HIKASA:    Hanazawa Kana no Hitori de Dekiru Kana’ … Stop breathing like that!
HANAZAWA:  Hanazawa Kana no Hitori de Dekiru Kana
HIKASA:     Why? Just now, was that okay?
HANAZAWA:   Okay. Now, I really didn’t want to do this next corner but…
HIKASA:     Why not? Why not?
HANAZAWA:   Let’s introduce the corner! The next corner is: It’s me, Hanazawa…
HIKASA:     It’s me, Hikasa…
TOGETHER:   Jun-Chan!
HANAZAWA:   Woo! We’ll always look up to the model, Hasegawa Jun-san! No matter what happens she’s always positive! I always try to follow her example and cheer everybody on! Now, I’m going to read and perform stories from the times I’ve cheered listeners on! Hiyocchi, got it?
HIKASA:     JunJun, right?
HANAZAWA:   I’m not sure you get it.. Well, I don’t know why, but this time we got a real lot of mail for this corner!
HIKASA:     Why?
HANAZAWA:   It’s funny… Well, anyway, Hiyocchi is going to do this together with me.
HIKASA:     Huh?!… Oh Yay! Come on, baby!
HANAZAWA:   Let’s get started! Here we go. Let’s read a letter. ‘From Radio-Name: Otoko Roku-dan-san.’ Thank you! ‘Good evening, Jun-san.’ Good evening! ‘Speaking of February, isn’t it everone’s favorite Hanazawa Kana-san’s birthday month? I have a request for Jun-chan. Please do a birthday rap for Hanazawa Kana. Usually, Kana-chan is picked on by the staff, so at least for her birthday, please praise Kana-chan with all you’ve got to make her happy!’ I see…
HIKASA:     I see!
HANAZAWA:   A birthday rap?…
HIKASA:     Hanazawa-san is rapping your specialty?
HANAZAWA:   I don’t have a specialty! So, Jun-chan is, well, for this birthday, on this wonderful day, going to show everyone her rap…
HIKASA:     Why are you looking around? Are you okay?
HANAZAWA:   Because you’re next, Hiyochhi. Think of something, okay?… Here I go!
♫ Today is Hanazawa’s Happy Birthday!
♫ I’m going to sing your praises now, baby!
♫ Your skin is always so fresh!
♫ Your legs are always so chubby!
♫ Sprinkle on some of my favorite noodle sauce!
♫ I’m going to eat you up! Pero pero perorin!
It’s me, Hanazawa Jun-Chan!… Hurry up, go!
HIKASA:     You want me to do that too?
HANAZAWA:   Something like that!
HIKASA:     Like that, but starring me?
HANAZAWA:   Yes, quickly!
HIKASA:     … Hanaza- Hey, I’m not doing it!
HANAZAWA:   You’re not?
HIKASA:     I’ll explode if I do that! No way!
HANAZAWA:   Okay that one’s over. Got it. Well, let’s go to the next mail then.
HIKASA:     What a shock!
HANAZAWA:   Let’s go… tada! ‘From Hitokana name: Senka-san’ Thank you!
HANAZAWA:   ‘Jun-chan, Happy Birthday!’ Thank you! ‘Speaking of Jun-chan’s birthday, you can’t forget that person…’ No wait, not that person. ‘you can’t forget that one time. It was 23 years ago. When the newborn Jun-chan first said those legendary words. Seeing such an unlikely and surreal statement from that baby on the television made my whole family burst out laughing!’
So, in a baby voice, she announced a few surreal words to everyone. I see. Even since she was born Jun-chan was pretty big! Well, then…
HIKASA:     Why do you keep looking over here?
HANAZAWA:   So, from Hiyocchi… Oh I’m sorry, from Hikasa Jun-chan, right! I’ll let you give this one a try. Go ahead.
HIKASA:     [*nervous laughter*]
HANAZAWA:   Just a few words! Just a few words!
HIKASA:
HANAZAWA:   Don’t make those reluctant noises. This is a live broadcast! So how about it?
HIKASA:     Let’s go! Here we go! Everyone follow along! “Yes! Machu Picchu!” It’s me Hikasa Jun-chan!
HANAZAWA:   Wow! You really did one! That was good. At first there was sudden impact to the heart but then a warm feeling gradually came through…
HIKASA:     Waaaaaaaaaah! My shoulder!
HANAZAWA:   You’ve really captured this corner’s true essence.
HIKASA:     My shoulder’s become dislocated!
HANAZAWA:   What, how did your shoulder get dislocated?
HIKASA:     It hurts! It hurts!
HANAZAWA:   Oh I get it. Thank you for bearing this wound for me!
HIKASA:     Shut up!
HANAZAWA:   Great! Great! Thank you! What what? There’s another one? Okay! Um, ‘Good evening, Jun-chan! During last year’s Hanazawa Kana special birthday broadcast, you had an amazing premonition: “Next year we’ll call an amazing guest to sing the ultimate song for Kana-chan,” you said. And today the guest has an amazing singing voice to sing a song that will lift up the hearts of everyone having a birthday.’ That’s true. That’s true. Well um. The guest, um, with the super-insanely great singing… I think they’re here to show everyone right now. What do you think?
HIKASA:     YES,… I AM.
HANAZAWA:   Putting a little English in there!? All right, well, go ahead!
HIKASA:
♫ Yes, yes, yes, yes!
♫ Who are you? Who are you?
♫ Are you, are you…
♫ Takahashi Chiaki?
♫ The Kano Sisters?
♫ No no nono n no n nono no no no nono!
♫ You are Hanazawa Kana!
♫ Messes up her words.
♫ Do you want to eat some coffee beans,
♫ Or would you rather get some coffee?
♫ Which one? Let’s spend our break time together!
♫ Happy Birthday!
It’s me, Hikasa Jun-Chan.
HANAZAWA:   That’s great! That was great how you brought everything together. You’re amazing, Hiyocchi!
HIKASA:     Oh?
TOGETHER:   [*laughter*]
HANAZAWA:   Wow. Hiyocchi’s makeup is halfway coming off!
HIKASA:     Shut up! Is it really this kind of show?
HANAZAWA:   Come on. It touched your heart a little, didn’t it?
HIKASA:     More like it crushed my body! I…
HANAZAWA:   Thank you! Thank you!
HIKASA:     Stop that! Stop it.
HANAZAWA:   Continuing on, everyone, anything you want to hear Hanazawa Jun-chan cheer on, we’ll be collecting your stories of encouragement from the past me! This has been ‘Hanazawa Jun-chan!’

Related: Hanazawa, Yahagi, Tomatsu Kurage-chan!, Jun-chan, I’ll never forget that smile…

Yoko Hikasa and Kana Hanazawa Talk about how loud they are.
Clip Length: 2:55
Source: Hodokou Housou-bu ~Moshidorajio~
Air Date: 2011.07.04
Personalities: Yoko Hikasa, Kana Hanazawa

Starting off from talking about being prepared for “what if” situations:

HIKASA:     “What if”s?.. There’s “optimistic driving”. It’s serious. Very serious.
HANAZAWA:   What’s “optimisting driving”?
HIKASA:     What if, right over there, a kid suddenly jumped out?
HANAZAWA:   I see. You mean when you’re driving..
HIKASA:     You can’t practice “optimistic driving”. You have to think “what if” when you’re driving.
HANAZAWA:   Okay.
HIKASA:     If you say, “Oh it’s fine, a kid won’t jump out.” Then it’ll be like “bam!”
HANAZAWA:   You don’t have to say “bam”..
HIKASA:     Bambambambam!… When I was getting my license. I don’t know if i’d call this funny, but, in the beginning, before the actual driving part there’s a computer simulation. It’s automatic. A kid jumps out right away! The timing when they jump is impossible! You can’t avoid them! You hit them and they go flying. I don’t even know how many kids I hit.
HANAZAWA:   You have to watch out!
HIKASA:     Yeah. But it’s on a video screen. So you can feel the danger. In the lesson.
HANAZAWA:   It’s enough so you feel some responsibility.
HIKASA:     Right. Even though I thought “Right there one’s definitely going to pop out” and I planned for it, it was impossible. It was impossible but people can do it. I was thinking “*sigh*” but I shouted out, “Kyaaaaaa!” really loud. And there was another student there, and the teacher. They were completely speechless.
HANAZAWA:   Huh?
HIKASA:     The scale of a professional seiyuu’s reaction surprised them!
HANAZAWA:   Actually, When I go in places like haunted houses, I think “Wow my voice is really loud!”
HIKASA:     You think that, right!
HANAZAWA:   Like “Shut up!”
HIKASA:     But, I think that surprises ordinary people.
HANAZAWA:   They don’t say anything when they’re surprised.
HIKASA:     They have *small* reactions, right?
HANAZAWA:   Yeah..
HIKASA:     A while ago I was at Fuji-Q, in the Labyrinth of Fear, it’s a haunted housed. I really hate ghosts so I was shouting out, “Hyaaaa! Hyaaaaa!” There’s a slam at the end when you come out. The people around me were like “It’s that bad?” It was so much that they had to make a comment.
HANAZAWA:   Really?
HIKASA:     Yeah. But it was really scary. I need to control myself better. But a seiyuu’s reactions are so intense.
HANAZAWA:   You have to be careful. We’re loud when were talking too.
HIKASA:     And we’re loud when we’re having tea, “Ahahaha”
HANAZAWA:   Sometimes someone suddenly goes “Shhh!”
HIKASA:     I think you’re the type that recognizes when you do it though. I was at this Shabu-shabu place, and I was caught. I was too loud. Everyone was like “Can you believe her?” They didn’t say “She’s a seiyuu,” but they were all saying things like, “That’s not an ordinary person.”
HANAZAWA:   You have a very loud voice. Haha. Everyone around you can hear.
HIKASA:     Even in regular conversations, we always put in jabs and things like that.
HANAZAWA:   Everyone really does things to the fullest.
HIKASA:     Right, right, even in everyday things. Be careful. Seiyuu, watch yourselves. Let’s behave ourselves, okay! What were we talking about again?

This year’s special was really fun too, but it only just aired so I only have time for .gifs before Christmas.

Sorry if anything with the subtitles or translation is bad.

Kana Hanazawa:

Juku-juku Juku-juku. I’ll make you let your guard down! It’s Charming Poison Scorpion, Hanazawa Kana!

Left: Kana Hanazawa receives a small cake to celebrate the 100th episode of her radio show. The show staff make her finish the whole thing.

Center: Kana-chan receives another cake to celebrate the 100th episode of her radio show. They mercifully do not make her finish this one.

Right: She draws a Cake card* once again. She notes that it’s very economical of the staff to give her the same fork each time.

(*the show activities in episode 100 were randomly decided by drawing special cards)

Kana Hanazawa, Yoko Hikasa (Hiyocchi), Sayaka Nakaya:

HANAZAWA: We have some mail here, Let’s read this one, okay. From Moshidora-name: Meto-Nee-san,
EVERYONE: Thank you!
HANAZAWA: “Hiyocchi, Kana-chan, Nakaya-san, Moshi Moshi!
EVERYONE: Dora dora! Thank you.
HANAZAWA: “During the continuous airing of the anime, I’ve been having a meeting everday to watch it.”
HIKASA: A Meeting!
HANAZAWA: “By the way..” oh it’s not “chinami”, it’s “Minami”..
HIKASA: How do you make a mistake like that! I’ll hit you on the head, Yuuki!
HANAZAWA: Sorry! “Your performances showing off Minani’s straightforward side and Yuuki’s kindness are wonderful. And I’ve gotten in the habit of repeating Ayana’s distracted ‘Eh, ah, hai’. So, how about playing around with replying ‘Eh, ah, hai’ no matter what you hear?”
HIKASA: Ah I see, I see. Want to give it a try? Everyone saying “Eh, ah, hai”?
HANAZAWA: So, somebody needs to ask a question. Hey, hey, do you want to eat that soba dango?
NAKAYA: Eh, ah, hai.
HIKASA, HANAZAWA: It’s the real thing! It’s the real thing!
HANAZAWA: Hiyocchi, Hiyocchi! Do you want to eat this?
HIKASA: Eh, ah, hai!
[*laughter*]
HANAZAWA: Hey, what’s with that smug look?
EVERYONE: This is fun! This is fun!
HIKASA: Hey, Hanazawa-kun, Hanazawa-kun! Here, I’m giving you this sudachi chocolate!
HANAZAWA: What? Why would you give me that?
HIKASA: Hey, you have to say ‘Eh, ah, hai!’
[*laughter*]
HANAZAWA: But a sudachi chocolate would be really sour!
HIKASA: It’s not sweet, is it?
HANAZAWA: It’s not, right!
HIKASA: What happened to the ‘Eh, ah, hai’!? Okay, one more time.
HANAZAWA: Sorry!
HIKASA: It’s terrifying isn’t it.
HANAZAWA: It’s a little terrifying.
HIKASA: Hanazawa-kun, Hanazawa-kun, give me a million yen.
HANAZAWA: Eh, ah, hai…
[*laughter*]
NAKAYA: There was a reluctant feeling there…
HANAZAWA: Putting a little feeling into it makes it more fun, right?
HIKASA: I see, yeah.
HANAZAWA: That’s fun.
HIKASA: It is.
