Starting off from talking about being prepared for “what if” situations:
HIKASA:
“What if”s?.. There’s “optimistic driving”. It’s serious. Very serious.
HANAZAWA:
What’s “optimisting driving”?
HIKASA:
What if, right over there, a kid suddenly jumped out?
HANAZAWA:
I see. You mean when you’re driving..
HIKASA:
You can’t practice “optimistic driving”. You have to think “what if” when you’re driving.
HANAZAWA:
Okay.
HIKASA:
If you say, “Oh it’s fine, a kid won’t jump out.” Then it’ll be like “bam!”
HANAZAWA:
You don’t have to say “bam”..
HIKASA:
Bambambambam!… When I was getting my license. I don’t know if i’d call this funny, but, in the beginning, before the actual driving part there’s a computer simulation. It’s automatic. A kid jumps out right away! The timing when they jump is impossible! You can’t avoid them! You hit them and they go flying. I don’t even know how many kids I hit.
HANAZAWA:
You have to watch out!
HIKASA:
Yeah. But it’s on a video screen. So you can feel the danger. In the lesson.
HANAZAWA:
It’s enough so you feel some responsibility.
HIKASA:
Right. Even though I thought “Right there one’s definitely going to pop out” and I planned for it, it was impossible. It was impossible but people can do it. I was thinking “*sigh*” but I shouted out, “Kyaaaaaa!” really loud. And there was another student there, and the teacher. They were completely speechless.
HANAZAWA:
Huh?
HIKASA:
The scale of a professional seiyuu’s reaction surprised them!
HANAZAWA:
Actually, When I go in places like haunted houses, I think “Wow my voice is really loud!”
HIKASA:
You think that, right!
HANAZAWA:
Like “Shut up!”
HIKASA:
But, I think that surprises ordinary people.
HANAZAWA:
They don’t say anything when they’re surprised.
HIKASA:
They have *small* reactions, right?
HANAZAWA:
Yeah..
HIKASA:
A while ago I was at Fuji-Q, in the Labyrinth of Fear, it’s a haunted housed. I really hate ghosts so I was shouting out, “Hyaaaa! Hyaaaaa!” There’s a slam at the end when you come out. The people around me were like “It’s that bad?” It was so much that they had to make a comment.
HANAZAWA:
Really?
HIKASA:
Yeah. But it was really scary. I need to control myself better. But a seiyuu’s reactions are so intense.
HANAZAWA:
You have to be careful. We’re loud when were talking too.
HIKASA:
And we’re loud when we’re having tea, “Ahahaha”
HANAZAWA:
Sometimes someone suddenly goes “Shhh!”
HIKASA:
I think you’re the type that recognizes when you do it though. I was at this Shabu-shabu place, and I was caught. I was too loud. Everyone was like “Can you believe her?” They didn’t say “She’s a seiyuu,” but they were all saying things like, “That’s not an ordinary person.”
HANAZAWA:
You have a very loud voice. Haha. Everyone around you can hear.
HIKASA:
Even in regular conversations, we always put in jabs and things like that.
HANAZAWA:
Everyone really does things to the fullest.
HIKASA:
Right, right, even in everyday things. Be careful. Seiyuu, watch yourselves. Let’s behave ourselves, okay! What were we talking about again?
